How your data is handled

Connecting your bank is read-only.

Most bank connections run through Plaid, the service thousands of finance apps use to connect to banks. Plucky only asks Plaid for your transaction history and balances, so it can’t move money, make payments, or change anything at your bank. You sign in to your bank on Plaid’s screen, and Plucky never sees that password.

Some banks don’t work well with Plaid.

For those, I can download your transactions the same way you would, using a login you share with me. That login is encrypted before it’s stored, and I’ll always tell you which of your accounts work this way. If you’d rather not share a login, you can send me a statement file each month instead, and it works just as well.

Your books are private.

Only you, me, and Katie on my team can see your books. Your tax preparer can see them too, but only if you ask me to give them access. I don’t sell your data or share it with advertisers.

Everything is protected.

Plucky only works over an encrypted connection, and your books are stored on servers in the United States.

Leaving is easy.

If you stop using Plucky, you can ask me to delete your data, and I will.
